In matrimonial law, one size does not fit all. I love breathing new life into long-established arguments. Taking positions that haven’t been taken before is what I do best and what drew me to law in the first place. Each unique client deserves an equally unique outcome. I pride myself on thinking creatively for my clients and connecting with them on a personal level so that together, we can build a distinctive pathway to their future.

Throughout her career, Sophie Heinlein has focused her practice exclusively on matrimonial and family law. She has extensive experience representing clients in complex high-net-worth matrimonial and family law matters, including drafting complicated separation, pre-nuptial, and post-nuptial agreements; coordinating valuation and distribution of property; and overseeing spousal and child support. She is also well-versed in appellate work and drafting intricate briefs in the First and Second Departments, and is skilled in negotiating settlements when possible.

Prior to joining KSTM, Sophie served as an associate at Dobrish Michaels Gross LLP in New York. She also previously worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable New York County Supreme Court Justice Matthew F. Cooper and the Honorable New Jersey Superior Court Justice Marcella Matos Wilson.

Sophie received her B.A. from Montclair State University and her J.D. from New York Law School. While in law school, she was a member of the Dispute Resolution team, where she mastered her negotiation skills.

Born in Hungary, Sophie speaks fluent Hungarian.
